Stepping Out of the Game of Doubt and Fear

You are facing an important decision. Doubt sets in. Scenarios start unfolding, and before you even notice, you begin to lose perspective.

Every moment in life can be seen as a game we actively take part in. Most of the time, I play the role of a coach, a podcaster, a mother, a partner.
But beyond the roles we play, what truly matters is how we play them.

And you? What game do you find yourself playing most often, and how?

The Inner Game Behind the Roles We Play

In every situation, you can choose to play from a place of confidence and clarity, or from a place of doubt and fear.

Doesn’t feel like a choice?

That’s normal. Because the game of doubt and fear is not just a game.
It’s a trap.

The moment you experience emotions such as doubt or fear, part of your awareness fades. You lose access to your full wisdom,to the most accurate, grounded answers available to you. You move away from your power by buying into one idea:

“I, or the people I care about, won’t be able to handle this situation or its consequences.”

And yet, it is fear itself that makes you less capable.

When you believe this, your self-trust weakens. You put yourself at a disadvantage. You give away your power, and close the door to another option: confidence and clarity.

Changing the Game: Reclaiming Your Power

The moment you realize you are playing the game of doubt and fear—and understand how it works—something shifts. No effort is required. Not even courage.

You are awake.

So, what can you do?

Start by observing yourself. Notice the signs that you are caught in this game.

How do you behave? Do you sleep less? Eat differently? Do you catch yourself saying “I don’t know” more often?

By stepping into the role of the observer, you become aware of what is happening and you remember that another choice is available.

At any moment, you choose the game you are playing.

You can choose to resist a situation.
Or you can choose to use it, and ask yourself:

How could this situation serve me?
Who do I choose to be in this moment?

Doubt and Fear or Confidence and Clarity

To move from one to the other, you can:

  • Ask yourself: What can you rely on, something no one can ever take away from you, no matter what?
  • Reconnect with your past successes, to regain an accurate sense of your capabilities
  • Identify what genuinely supports you (activities, people, ways of thinking) and consciously bring it back into your daily lifeor…

You have the power to choose your game, and to shape your life, as well as the lives of those around you.

So, which game are you playing today?
